The Journal was launched originally as CONNECT: Critical Care Nursing in Europe, in January 2001, in association with the European Federation of Critical Care Nursing associations (EfCCNa). In 2003 it became the official journal of World Federation of Critical Care Nurses, resulting in a title change that reflected its wider readership; CONNECT: The World of Critical Care Nursing.
